[19:32] The CP Train to Oporto departed from Vigo.

21st April. Going to Oporto

Porto Campanha station

[22:00] Arrived at Porto Campanhã station. Enjoying the view of Atlantic Ocean in some part, it was already dark when I arrived.

Taking a local train, I went to São Bento station.

It was already 11pm when I arrived at this little hotel.

City of Oporto

Oporto (Porto) is the second largest city in Portugal.

Oporto Cathedral

Oporto Cathedral is the oldest building in the city.

Sao Joao National Theatre

Walking without the guidebook as usual, I was wondering why people visits Oporto just for a normal city.

Narrow Alley Near D Luis Iron Bridge

I realized my idea was wrong when I saw a huge bridge from the narrow alley.

Little Boats on river Douro

Crossing the Dom Luís Bridge, I saw many boats on river Douro.

Sandeman Wine Cellar

This is the area of Vila Nova de Gaia, where the many wine cellars stands on the riverside. This is the wine cellar for Sandeman.

Inside Wine Cellar

Most of the wine cellars offer tours to look inside, however you may need to book earlier to join the tour. Few of them offer the tour for free, but most of them offer a free wine tasting after the tour.

Lunch in Oporto

I had a nice lunch when I was waiting for my next tour. Of course, with a glass of wine!

River Douro and City of Oporto

I had a nice view of the city of Oporto.

Metro on Ponte Dom Luis I Bridge

It was almost time to leave Oporto. On the way back to the hotel, I realized that the Dom Luís 1st Bridge has a tram way for the Metro on its top.

Porto Sao Bento Station

I picked my backpack and went to São Bento station.

Alfa Pendular Train at Campanha station

[19:15] Depart Oporto. I took the Alfa Pendular train to Lisbon (Lisboa).

Coimbra-B Station

Since I didn't have a reservation, I had to change the train at Coimbra-B station.

Lisboa Santa Apolonia Station

[22:40] Taking Intercidades train, I arrived at Lisboa Santa Apolonia Station.

It was already midnight when I arrived at the hostel, Oasis Backpackers' Mansion

Oasis Backpackers' Mansion is the NO! hostel in Portugal. It is very clean and safe just like 5* hotel.

Trams in Lisbon

Lisbon is a capital of Portugal where stands on hilly terrain. The old tramway is linked to everywhere in the city.

Elevador do Bica

In some part, the cable car is served for clibming the hill. This is the Elevador do Bica.

Elevador de Santa Justa

Elevador de Santa Justa is one of the famous tourist attraction for a nice view of the city.

Praca do Comercio

Praça do Comércio, known as Commerce Square near Tagus river at the end of Pombaline, used to be Royal Ribeira Palace before the 1755 Lisbon Earthquake.

Jeronimos Monastery

Taking a tram along the river Tagus, I went to Jerónimos Monastery, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Inside the Jerónimos Monastery is very beautiful.

Pedro IV Square

Back to the city center, I went to Praça de D. Pedro IV, known as Pedro IV Square. The place with a lot of history.

Castle of Sao Jorge

Castle of São Jorge, known as Lisbon Castle is located on top of the hill.

Lisbon Cathedral

Taking the tram, I happened to see the Lisbon Cathedral.

Tram Driver

The driver of the tram is very professional on driving in such narrow roads.

Camoes Square

Camões Square is located near the hostel. It is the statues of classical Portuguese authors

Lusitania Comboio Hotel Train

After having a rest at the hostel, I went to Santa Apolonia Station to catch my train to Madrid.

Buffet coach is also available in Lusitânia Comboio Hotel, the international night train. I had a very nice dinner there.
