Briefing
This travel starts from Canada. Please have a look at Part1 section if you haven't.
Paris Orly airport is a reasonably tiny airport in southern Paris. Luggage was delivered so quickly, so I would use it again.
Day.8 Transit in Paris (16th June) - Continued
Taking OrlyVal automated train, you can change to RER train for city centre and CDG airport at the end, but the train fare is almost 5 times more expensive than the amount I paid in Barcelona, too expensive!
First, I didn't want to carry my Luggage around! so I went to Gare du Nord, the Eurostar statin. There is a coin locker near the Eurostar platform.
First, I went to see my favorite cathedral, Notre Dame. Because of the season, the summer holiday, there were so many people queuing for the entrance... Never seen such before :(
Having lunch and waffle near by, I had a walk around the city. This is the fountain at Place Saint-Michel
I walked along the river Seine until I saw the Eiffel Tower :)
The sandy street in Tuileries Garden had nothing but crowds. Arc de Triomphe was visible from there.
Palais Garnier, the opera house. I will come back to see the show in the future, but not now... again!
You can see the tall but the old buildings around the opera house.
Taking a train, I went to my favorite place for shopping, La Défense, where you can see La Grande Arche de la Fraternité.
This time, I've been to the other side of shopping centre I usually visit, Centre des Nouvelles Industries et Technologies (CNIT). It was so clean compared to the Paris standards. There is a huge statute of thumb outside the CNIT. What is it for?
Travel Continues to Part5 in China
Picking up my luggage, I took RER train to Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) for my next flight.
