The easier and cheaper way to visit Dublin from London is to take a train and ferry. Discounted combination ticket is available from Virgin Train if you book well in advance.
You will need to change to ferry at Holyhead, Wales. The ferry terminal is right next to the train station.
Dublin Swift of Irish Ferries is one of the fast ferries connecting Holyhead and Dublin for less than two hours.
Accommodation
Rainbow Hostel is where I stayed, located near the bus station and ideal place for walking around the city.
O'Connell Street as well as Shops and Restaurants are also in walking distance.
Transport
Dublin Bus is the most famous and common transport method in Dublin.
Luas, Dublin's Light Rail Tram System is also available within the city.
Sightseeing Spot
The city is divided into two parts by the River Liffey.

Guinness Hop Store is a converted 19th century building and it is the home of Guinness Stout, the famous black beer with the distinctive creamy head.

Marrion Square has lots of seasonal flowers and sculptures around the park.
St. Stephen's Green is the best public park in Ireland offers large area of trees and lakes in the middle of the city.
Shopping
Grafton Street is the main shopping street located between St Stephen's Green and Trinity College.
St. Stephen's Green Shopping Centre is located at the end of Grafton Street.
You will also see many souvenir shops like Carrolls around the city.
Eating and Drinking
Temple Bar is the famous area for young people. You can find many pubs, restaurants and clubs around the area.
You can have a nice food there even in a pub.
